PROMOTING QUALITY CIVIC EDUCATION IN THE COUNTRY (NIGERIA)
PROJECT OBJECTIVES
General Objective
The overall goal of the project is to conduct a holistic and comprehensive review of Nigeria’s civic education strategy and its implementation in primary and secondary schools.
Specific Objectives
i. To examine the current slide in civic education’s implementation in primary and secondary schools
ii. To assess the overall quality of the civic education curriculum and the teachers responsible in teaching civic education
iii. To improve the quality of civic education in Nigeria among primary and secondary school civic education teachers.
The pilot states are Borno, Enugu and Kano.
The duration of the grant is for one year ending in September 2017. This project is funded by Open Society Initiative for West Africa.
